Privacy Statement

Personal Information Protection (PIP) 

Personal information we collect from you for membership and event processes will be used by the Tasmanian Council for Adult Literacy Inc (TCAL) for those purposes and may also be used for other purposes such as to promote TCAL meetings, events, professional development programs and webinars as allowed by the Occupational Licensing Act 2005 and associated laws. 

TCAL will only collect that Personally Identifiable Information (PII) which is essential to the operation of TCAL. 

Sharing information

Your personal information will not be given to other parties without your express prior permission.

Management and Access

Your information will be managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 and may be accessed by you on request to the TCAL Secretary. 

You will not be charged a fee for this service. 

If you do not provide this information your application may not be processed or records not maintained properly. 

Right to be forgotten

Following confirmation of cessation of membership or as part of the next membership renewal process following three months of unpaid membership fees, TCAL will delete all of an individual’s PII apart from their first name, surname, email address and TCAL committee membership. This information will be retained in case you rejoin in the future and to enable us to promote relevant events to you. 

All information held in our membership list regarding you will be deleted upon your request.
